The Process
When Rove Finery started to evolve in 2022, I knew I wanted the process to stay authentic and intentional. The true value lives in making each piece by hand and keeping the focus on quality and meaning. If there’s anything I’ve learned since I first started teaching myself jewelry-making in 2015, it’s that we need to slow down and make space for what truly matters.
Every piece is thoughtfully made for you in my Alabama studio using 14 karat gold. The designs are created for everyday wear, with natural stones and solid metals chosen to stand up to the life you actually live—so your jewelry can rove right along with you.
For this page, I’ve broken the process down into three essential steps to show you exactly how your Rove Finery piece comes to life.
Form
Each piece begins as a small block of wax that I slowly carve into shape by hand. This is where the intention is set—every curve and line is considered with the hope of creating a genuine connection with its future wearer. I leave room for evidence of the handmade process and textured details, so the finished form feels lived-in and loved.
Fire
Once the wax form is complete, it’s transformed into metal through an ancient process called lost-wax casting. The wax is replaced by molten gold, poured into a hollow cavity to capture every carved detail. As the metal cools and hardens, it becomes a lasting piece of jewelry.
Finish
In the final stage, each piece is carefully filed, sanded, and set with any stones it’s meant to hold. Then comes my favorite part—polishing. This is where the jewelry truly comes to life, catching the light and highlighting every bit of texture carved into the metal.
